♥ Be It Unto Me ♥

 While reading my Bible early yesterday morning, I was re-reading the whole Christmas story from Luke....the verse that jumped out at me was Luke 1:38. It is after the angel tells Mary that she is the chosen one to bring Jesus into the world. Her reply was this,
"And Mary said, behold the handmaid of the Lord;
be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her."
(Luke 1:38)

The thing that spoke to me was her submission. She did not see her future laid out before her; she did not see her baby's  future. She did not know what her tomorrows would like.
But she was resting in the Lord and trusting in Him, so, she humbly, submissively, replied,
"be it unto me according to thy word."

What a beautiful example of submission for us to learn from....sometimes we cannot see what our future looks like. We don't know what God will call us to do....maybe be a missionary, housewife, doctor, farmer, veterinarian, etc. We just do not know....but may we be ready when He calls us, to reply with a submissive heart and spirit,
"be it unto me according to thy word."

I just love it when God reveals things like this....it helps mold me for becoming the woman in Christ that I strive to be, every day. I'm SO thankful for Mary and her Biblical example!
Blessings and love to you all...

~HE IS RISEN~

"Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them,
Why seek ye the living among the dead?
{He is not here, but is risen.}"
Luke 24:1-6a

May you all have a blessed resurrection Sunday celebrating the Lord of life and love!
Praise Him...
He Lives!

// 1 Corinthians 13 //

 "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three;

{but the greatest of these is charity.}"

Thankful Homemaker: Thoughts to Ponder as You Celebrate Christmas {shared post}

As I'm writing this post I am in the midst of the busyness this season seems to bring about.  Baking, cooking, and wrapping.   I continue to pray to the Lord to remind me to have the heart of Mary and not get caught up with the attitude of Martha in all that needs to be done....."

Command's

As I learn of the tragic news around the world daily, I reflect of the sermon I heard yesterday...
do we love the Lord

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
And these words, which I command thee this day,
shall be in thine heart:
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

Deuteronomy 6:4-9King James Version (KJV)
