Mothers Day // 2016

 

 

 

God could not be in every place
With loving hands to help erase
The teardrops from each baby's face,
And so He thought of mother.

He could not send us here alone...

 

 

 

And leave us to a fate unknown;
Without providing for His own,
The outstretched arms of mother.

God could not watch us night and day

And kneel beside our crib...

Or kiss our little aches away;
                              And so He sent us mother.

                                 And when our childhood days began,
                                  He simply could not take command.
                                  That's why He placed our tiny hand
                                             Securely into mother's.

The days of youth slipped quickly by,
Life's sun rose higher in the sky.
Full grown were we, yet ever nigh
To love us still, was mother.

And when life's span of years shall end,
I know that God will gladly send,
To welcome home her child again,
That ever-faithful mother.

My Word for 2015

Maggie's thoughts

 

This year my word for 2015 is...Enthusiasm! 

I am purposing to be enthusiastic about:

 

* God

* Loving others

* Prayer

* Repentance 

* Trials / reproaches 

* Daily life situations   

      

 

 

Many times in the Bible it says to "rejoice" and this year I want to take to heart what my countenance  and outward attitude is saying to those around me....really, when I think about how abundantly blessed I am.....I need to share that with others.....through a warm caring smile, hug, and maybe even stopping to pray with that person... and spread some happiness to them

wherever. Whenever.  

 

"These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that

your joy might be full."

 ~John 15:11

As I'm writing this post I am in the midst of the busyness this season seems to bring about.  Baking, cooking, and wrapping.   I continue to pray to the Lord to remind me to have the heart of Mary and not get caught up with the attitude of Martha in all that needs to be done....."

This scripture passage has been a blessing to me....and it is my prayer that it will be the same to you!

There fore seeing we have this ministry, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor by handling the word of GOD deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every mans conscience in the sight of GOD. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to those who are lost: In whom the gods of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel be Christ, who is the image of GOD, should shine unto them.

 

For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants foe Jesus' sake. For GOD, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of GOD in the face of Jesus Christ.
