// 1 Corinthians 13 //

 "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three;

{but the greatest of these is charity.}"

My Word for 2015

Maggie's thoughts

This year my word for 2015 is...Enthusiasm!
I am purposing to be enthusiastic about:

* God
* Loving others
* Prayer
* Repentance
* Trials / reproaches
* Daily life situations

Many times in the Bible it says to "rejoice" and this year I want to take to heart what my countenance  and outward attitude is saying to those around me....really, when I think about how abundantly blessed I am.....I need to share that with others.....through a warm caring smile, hug, and maybe even stopping to pray with that person... and spread some happiness to them
wherever. Whenever.

"These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that
your joy might be full."
 ~John 15:11

( I am thinking about spring/summer....want to visit here with me???)

So there it is...my word

e n t h u s i a s m.

A quote that goes along with this is.....

"Wherever you are, be all there. Live to the hilt every situation you believe to be the will of God."
// Jim Elliot //

(this is reality!!!)

Blessings to all of you...sweet readers!
Love w/ a hug~

Happy birthday, Happy New Year!

Today we have the blessing of celebrating a New Year and our Daddy!

Dad, you show the example of being a Godly husband and loving Mom
"like Christ loved the church"...thank you.
 You invest so much into our lives and you give us a safe place to share our hearts...thank you.
You take time to be a blessing to others every day...thank you.
You show us the example of being quick to forgive and forget....thank you.
Dad, thank you for not giving up when we were in the valley walking on our own two feet without the Lord and thank you for seeking HIM and turning our lives around so that we can be where we are today! Thank you for having faith and that vision of seeing beyond the 'dark days' and trusting in God to get you through when the days were tough! Honestly, if it were not for God teaching you SO much in the valley...we would not be at the place where we are today in our lives!
Dad, thank you for wanting to leave us children a legacy of faith and a Godly heritage to pass on to our children someday....you mean so much to all of us and you have helped us see what really matters in this life:
Loving God and loving people!

{WE. LOVE. YOU.}

Some of Dad's favorites things are....going on dates with Mom, ministering to young guys, southern gospel music, Culvers (only when enjoyed with his 'soul mate', a.k.a. Mom), his favorite Bible verse is Matthew 6:33 "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.", spending time with us children, and all around just spending time with family!

On the menu tonight is:
Ham
Mashed potatoes
Vegetable bake
Sweet potatoes
Stuffing
Salad
 Sliced peaches

and for dessert....*Dad's favorite* Yellow cake with chocolate frosting!

Blessings from your family~
