We have this really neat book here at our home titled
"The Power for True Success", I love reading out of it, as it has LOTS of different character qualities broken down into a study format...my favorite one recently has been to read the one about
l o v e. (the foundational quality) So, with all of that being said, I had to share it with YOU....our sweet readers!! *anything in italic is from the book* I am just giving you my highlights.....I wish that I had time to type the whole study!! It is just THAT GOOD, my dear friends. (!!!)
"Love is giving to the basic needs of others so that their authorities get the credit...God gets the glory...and we have the
joy of eternal rewards.
Genuine love is giving without expectation of personal gain.
Love is the only badge of discipleship that the world recognizes..."By this shall all men know that ye are MY disciples, if ye have love one to another." (John 13:35)
Love is enjoying the fellowship of another by
laying aside personal rights.
Love is seeing in others what Christ saw in them when he created them."
Wow. that is the part that really gets me....
I believe that when Christ created us He
looked and saw treasures,
priceless. treasures. Now......when I look at others, am I looking at the outside only and seeing a person as __________
(fill in the blank) and not truly seeing what treasure lies on the inside of that person, many times (in my life) this is the case. When I read this, God really spoke to my heart and said " learn to love people with a pure, no wrong motives, no hidden agenda type love." It seems that since this has been brought to my life that the Lord has given me many opportunities to just l o v e. To just sit and give people my undivided attention to listen to what they have to say to me to just. simply. love. like. Christ. This is what I am working on in my life right now, and I ask y'all to pray for me!!
Well...thank y'all for reading! I pray that you have been
blessed by this!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
Love in Christ~
Maggie
"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."
-Revelation 4:11
Thanks for sharing. I think that this is a study the majority of us ladies could glean from. Always something to learn about loving others. It is so easy to LOVE the lovable! :) Not so much the ones we have to look REALLY hard to see something to love.
